A flor do Lácio

Flor do Lácio marks and celebrates the reception of the Portuguese language as an undeclared spice in the cargo manifests transported on caravels and slave ships. This common, ship-borne heritage, which, like other goods, was cultivated in all parts of the world, is recalled here through poetry and songs, with special emphasis on the dialogue between Brazil and Portugal. Well-known songs coexist with the texts and poems that inspired them, and some poems, perhaps less well-known, have inspired new songs.
