Nega Jaci

Born in Salvador, Bahia, Nega was invited as a teenager to join the Bagunçaço Cultural Group (a project aimed at children at social risk). Her talent for music was soon noticed and Jaci became the lead singer of two bands, Sucata Mania and Percucia. With the latter she recorded the CD “Toque Bahia”, whose repertoire identifies with African musical roots, a mix of Afro-Brazilian and North American rhythms.

She performed in Portugal in venues such as Casa da Música Porto, CCB Lisboa, Vodafone Paredes Coura festival, festival for Gente Sentada, Teatro do Bairro, among others.
