Too Many Suns
In 2018, friends Hugo Hugon (guitar and vocals) and João Cardoso (drums) got together and Too Many Suns was born. The seed was sown in a studio in Anjos and within a few weeks the five songs that formed his first EP Garden, produced in partnership with Gonçalo Formiga from Cave Story, were created. With the addition of bassist Vasco Rato, the band records their first LP. The album is produced by Miguel Vilhena at the Pontiaq Records studios and is released in October 2020 in digital and K7 formats. This is an album that thrives on the contrast between light and shadows: from the most introspective folk to springtime pop, or grunge and reverberant noise. The year 2021 brought a new EP Quiet. Mixed by André Isidro at the DuckTape Melodies studio, it explores different records from what the band had done so far, rambling about internal journeys that the stillness of those years provided. In 2022, the partnership with Simão Reis was born on guitar and keys, and with him new sound horizons were created for the construction of a new album. The songs created in these last few months will be presented throughout 2023 and 2024 and will culminate in the second full-length: Reverie. This will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the band's life that will be published by Reverie Records, a label that came to life in 2023, with the prospect of publishing promising independent projects.
After the first single Gold, My Baby Goodbye arrives. Recorded at WAAHS studios by Ulpiano Capalbo and produced by André Isidro, the theme gives us an allegory about how to be present and be happy in a world seemingly falling apart. With concerts in venues such as Capitolio, TimeOut and Titanic Sur Mer, it is with the prospect of new concerts that Too Many Suns intend to present Reverie.
