Subtractive Colors
Desidério Lázaro"Subtractive Colors" celebrates the intersection between the maturity of compositional work and the professionalism and richness of interpretation by an excellent ensemble of national musicians.
It is an unusual ensemble, consisting of 3 wind instruments, 2 double basses, and a drum set, whose compositional focus is centered on the interaction and improvisation between the various timbres on stage. The styles, present throughout the various original compositions, range from jazz to classical music and the realm of rock.
The language and energy of film soundtracks and even video games served as an inspirational basis for the writing process, and this presence is felt in the performative moment of the music, whose multiplicity of resources allows for the construction of different atmospheres and plot premonitions.
